August 2024 Inflation Update Proposal

Background and Context

The last inflation and community pool update was completed with Proposal 240 and Proposal 241 at the end of December 2023. One goal of these proposals was to bolster the Community Pool and at the time of this proposal it currently sits at ~8.9m AKT.

Proposal

After initial discussions around decreasing inflation while raising Community Pool tax, the cleanest path forward is to decouple the inflation parameter adjustments from any Community Pool tax changes. The changes in this proposal are:

1. Decrease inflation minimum from 13% to 8%
2. Decrease inflation maximum from 20% to 13%.
